Running technology for an organisation is an odd job. You are accountable for everything from the board's AI ambitions to the printer on the third floor. Yet there are usually very few people inside the business who do what you do.
The questions that matter most are often the ones you can't ask in public. How did you handle a supplier that missed every milestone? What did your board actually respond to when you asked for security budget? Is anyone else seeing the same licensing changes from the same vendor? LinkedIn is not the place for those conversations, and a vendor-sponsored round table rarely is either.
IT Leaders Network is being built to fill that gap.
Who it's for
Membership is for people who lead technology in their organisation: Heads of IT, IT Directors, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and similar roles. The size of the organisation doesn't matter. A Head of IT at a 200-person charity and a CIO at a FTSE 250 company face many of the same problems, and each has something to teach the other.
What's here now
- News, open to everyone. A reading list gathered from trusted sources, each linking to the original, plus occasional articles written for this site, like this one.
- The forum, for members only. Leadership, security, cloud, data, vendors and careers, discussed candidly by peers.
What's coming later
- Jobs. Senior technology roles posted by recruitment agencies, with saved jobs and alerts.
- CV search. This is entirely optional. If you choose to take part, recruiters can search an anonymised profile. They see your experience, not your name, until you accept their request.
How membership works
When you apply, we ask for your job title and a link to your LinkedIn profile. A person reviews every application before it is approved. That is slower than instant sign-up, but it is the only way to keep the forum a place where everyone in the room does the same job.
The forum only works if members can speak plainly. That depends on trusting who else is reading.
Recruitment agencies will have their own accounts for jobs and CV search. They will have no access to the forum.
A few ground rules
The full detail is in our community guidelines, but the short version is:
- Treat what's said in the forum as off the record.
- No selling. Vendor recommendations from experience are welcome; pitches are not.
- Disagree with the idea, not the person.
What happens next
Registration opens soon. If you lead technology in your organisation, we would like you to be part of it. And if you know someone who should be, please pass this on.
