Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We keep them to a minimum: the ones the site needs to work, one more if you ask us to keep you logged in, and analytics cookies only if you agree to them.

Cookies the site needs

These keep the site working and secure, so they can't be switched off.

NameWhat it's forHow long
itln_sessionKeeps you logged in and protects forms from being submitted by other websites.Until you close your browser, or 2 hours of inactivity
itln_consentRemembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies.12 months
itln_rememberOnly if you tick "Keep me logged in" when you log in: keeps you logged in on that device. Logging out removes it.30 days

Cloudflare, which protects the site, may also set its own security cookies, such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance, to tell people from automated programs, including during the security check on the log-in, application and password reset forms. These are strictly necessary too. Cloudflare sets and controls them: see Cloudflare's cookie policy.

Analytics cookies

If you accept them, Google Analytics sets these cookies to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics isn't loaded at all until you accept.

NameWhat it's forHow long
_gaTells visits from different browsers apart.2 years
_ga_<ID>Keeps track of the current visit.2 years

Changing your choice

Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. If you switch analytics off, we delete the analytics cookies from your browser.

Fonts

The site's fonts come from Google Fonts. Loading them doesn't set cookies, but your browser does send Google your IP address. See our privacy policy.
